50 States, Day 184

50 States Day 184, San Diego, CA 0 miles

"The fact that I can plant a seed and it becomes a flower, share a bit of knowledge and it becomes another's, smile at someone and receive a smile in return, are to me continual spiritual exercises."
~Leo Buscaglia

Guess who's scheduled to fly to New Jersey today?
Guess who else is going there? That's right, Sandy, Frankenstorm.
So guess who's not going? Right.
Saturday, Southwest Airlines (God bless them!) sent a text message:
'Possible SWA flt disruptions due to weather conditions @ PHX. Because you are changing planes on October 29, go to ________.'
We got enough warning, that if we lived there, we could go early and batten down the hatches. We elected to fly there Wednesday.  I go there and rebook a flight, no change fees. God bless them.

Yesterday, my niece Kim called from Channel 8 News and wanted an interview of a San Diego person, stuck or rescheduling. I cruised over and did a nice little interview. If you'd like to see it, go to http://www.cbs8.com/story/19938222/hurricane-sandy-affects-local-air-travel
And if you need to contact me, you'll have to go through my agent. Okay, maybe not. Kim gave me the grand tour of a newsroom and treated me better than most people treat their relatives.
And today was Finish The Paint Projects Day, and Issouf and I worked together. Man bonding stuff. We must have said at least five complete sentences to one another, using our entire day's reserves. So we're stuck in San Diego, 80 degrees and clear. It's the cross we have to bear.

But I sure hope the bike and trailer are okay. They are in the courtyard of the motel. 20' above sea level. Out of the wind, anyway, unless the building falls down on it.
But Thursday should be interesting.
Back to the grandkids, let the spoiling begin!

Looks like Grandma's getting quite attached to those grandbabies. If you don't get her away from there soon, you might have to finish the trip alone... or with Sandy and her boisterous East Coast relatives.

Pretty comfy, but after a few score of diapers, well, maybe they are fun to visit.

I don't think I need to repeat myself. Stupid iPad! Course, if I got indigestion, I'd blame the iPad.

Kevin,
It looks like we're both having confuser issues. The comment above about Grandma and the grandbabies was from me, but our confuser stole my identity and attributed it to Judy. She wanted me to let you know that the comment was mine, not hers.

Look whoever you are, you came up as 'Judy' again. Do you have identity issues? Are you a victim of identity theft? Because if it isn't identity theft, you are going to have a hard time looking like Judy Nason- and thank God for that!
