Southwest Swing Day 6

Sunny California- not! Rain all day today, and so it was a good shakedown. Now we know we need a mat to prevent walking in with feet full of junk. While the tent keeps out the rain, inside the surface dots with moisture. We'll just have to stop breathing out.
Last night we waited 45 minutes to order and be seated at Phil's Bar B Que, and it was worth it! Phil knows his ribs. As you know, restaurant ribs can run the gamut from meaty and tasty to dry bones. Phil's are off the charts. And the cole slaw is almost as good as KFC, which I declare to be the best I've tasted. The place is a madhouse, packed with people, the noise level high enough to need shouting to be heard. So what? Great food. I would post photos if I could get them from my phone to my blog. Every day i learn a bit more about my phone. Today was Angry Bird day.
Today we ate lunch at the Fat Fish restaurant, and I have fallen in love with fish tacos. The few times I ate them in the past were disappointing, but my last three experiences have been rewarding. Perhaps it's the location. Enjoy fish close to the water.
Besides eating (it isn't all we've done!) we laid pretty low, reading, and I worked on notes for my upcoming job as emcee at the Las Vegas Writer's Conference in April. The pressure is on, I better deliver! Actually it is going to be fun.
The scooter never moved today, and a good thing it was, as it rained off and on all day. Tomorrow we move out, headed for... hmmm. We think Palm Springs.
Perhaps we should go North. The little Woman found an article on a class, 'Romance in the Redwoods,' where we could learn the mating habits of woodpeckers, newts, and banana slugs.
Always wanted to know about the sex lives of banana slugs.
And now, an Irish blessing:
"May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!"
Happy Saint Patrick's Day.

Congratulations on your role as emcee at the Writers'Conference-how were you selected? (Do not mean that in a negative sense!!-just curious about the process). You are so confident to be able to do that, I was nervous for Phill as he did a one minute talk in front of the congregation!!
Keep dry-we are praying for your continued safe travel every day.
