Day 42, 28 miles
"Nothing else can quite substitute for a few well-chosen, well-timed, sincere words of praise. They're absolutely free-- and worth a fortune."
~Sam Walton
We traveled in different modes today- motorcycle, car, van, and ferry. After a wonderful night a Dad's (inside a house!) we headed over to Paul and Amy's house with their five children- a gaggle indeed!
Getting ten people pointing in the same direction- particularly two three year old twins- is like making a wedding cake with half cold Jell-o. Finally we set off to the Edmonds- Kingston ferry, to trek across Puget Sound.
What a wonderful way to travel with kids full of energy. They can watch the cars load, head to the bow to see the water spraying off the ship, and restrooms are handy for those three year olds who don't want to stop playing until it's a dire emergency.
Don't feel sorry for the bike- it got to rest in a nice garage! First time since our launch.
Late afternoon we rode from Kirkland to Snoqualmie through evergreen forests that towered over the two lane roads, keeping them damp.
We parked at my sister Colleen's house, and the bike and trailer got a garage again!
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you... The Stupid Driver of the Week! Clarkston, WA. Gas Station. Sir, you in the '79 Corvette. Look around you. See the dozen signs that say no smoking? What that means is no smoking. Did you just fall off the turnip truck and land in the seat of that fine car?
And now,

To the idiot smoking at the gas station in Clarkston: "I hope someone kicks your butt... before you put theirs in further danger!"
I can't tell you how many people I see smoking at gas stations around here. Is it just a Washington thing? -Leah
Leah, it's not the state of Washington, it's the state of stupidity.
